Olivia Palermo Takes Us Behind The Scenes On Her Aquazzura Shoe Range

The Olivia Palermo X Aquazzura shoe collaboration is almost here and to whet our fashion appetites even further, the 28-year-old style icon and writer has let us in on the making of the very special heels in an amazing behind the scenes video. From the Florentine cobblers to the sophisticated campaign shoot in New York, we follow Olivia and Aquazzura's main man Edgardo Osorio as they take their collaborative collection of shoes across the world together. Now that's a road trip we wouldn't have minded tagging along on.

The collection, which consists of six different designs that are modelled in various colourways, is everything we've come to expect from Olivia; undoubtedly glamorous but still refined and elegant. These too are ethos mirrored in the Aquazzura brand itself, making this, indisputably, the most perfect of partnerships. We caught up with the sartorial maven to hear about the stunning collection in our September edition of InStyle. She revealed that to gain inspiration for the range: 'We went through all the shoes in my closet in New York, then Edgardo's archives in Florence, and met the craftsmen in Aquazzura's Tuscan factories. We were on the same page in terms of styles, and I feel we've created the perfect survival pack of shoes for every woman's wardrobe.' Covering all bases from over the knee boots to barely-there strap heels, we can't help but agree that is exactly what they have done. 

Our ultimate pick of the crop (trust us, it was hard to narrow down a fave) has to be these stunning black suede heeled sandals featuring a showstopping draped jewel and silver chain heel. The on-trend front tie, sleek heel and minimal strap across the toe keep the shoe effortlessly chic allowing the gems to really exude a wow factor. Excuse us while we look down at the shoes we're currently wearing with disdain.

Winona Ryder Turns Model For Rag & Bone

She's one of our all time favourite movie stars and style icons, thanks to her roles in iconic films such as, Edward Scissorhands, Girl, Interrupted and Black Swan, so we're naturally delighted to see Winona Ryder lend her image to American brand rag & bone for its AW14 campaign.

In a series of sultry black and white shots, Winona is pictured hanging out around New York's gritty amusement district, Coney Island alongside fellow actor Michael Pitt. Needless to say the actress is a perfect fit for the shoot, what with her nonchalant demeanour and those haunting dark eyes.

Marcus Wainwright, Managing Partner at rag & bone summed up out thoughts perfectly with this statement: To us, Winona Ryder is a bona fide icon. One of the things that makes her so cool is that although she has this incredible career, she isn’t interested in being a movie star. For her, it’s all about the craft. She also has this beautiful timeless quality.

Louis Vuitton Arrives At Dover Street Market

It's official: from today we'll be able to nab the latest pieces from our most coveted luxury brand Louis Vuitton at London concept store, Dover Street Market.

Located on the first floor of the Georgian building, the Louis Vuitton pop up store opens today until 14th October. The space will be dedicated to an edit of Vuitton's statement pieces from its AW14 collection (Nicolas Ghesquiere's debut, as if we'd forgotten).

If, like us, a full on head-to-toe LV look is a little out of your price range, the edit will also include LV's infamous accessories, hot off the runway. From the classic LV emblazoned leather goods to jewellery and sunglasses, there's a little bit of Vuitton for everyone.

We're not so secretly excited about the Louis Vuitton dedicated corner window appearing at DSM from 1st September covering SS15 London Fashion Week. What can we say? You'll Never Guess What Net-A-Porter Was Almost Called

Every fashion-lover worth their salt is well versed in Net-A-Porter: the e-tailer who revolutionised the way we shop designer clothing, bringing high-end shopping to the masses no matter your global locale, changing the way we spend our lunch hours' at our desks forever. However, we wonder if it would have been such a hit if the company kept it's original name.

The websites founder, the uber-stylish Natalie Massenet, has just revealed that if she had it her way back in 2000 the pending fashion destination would have had a very different name. 'I wanted to call my website What's New, Pussycat?' admits Massenet in an interview with 032c.

However, after a meeting with her lawyer, Natalie was advised against using the title due to copyright infringements. So, it was back to the drawing board to come up with a new name to go along with her groundbreaking concept. 'I took my WWD dictionary and went from A to P: prêt-à-porter. Net-a-Porter. The name meant a lot. I couldn't sell my friends' Pashmina scarves anymore. It had to be the real stuff. It had to be prêt-à-porter'.

And boy are we glad things turned out the way they did for the sartorial entrepreneur, who has rightly gone on to be one of the most successful businesswomen in the world. That lawyer definitely deserves a Thank You card.

Fashion's Most Powerful Blogging Couple Split

Street style photographers Scott Schuman and Garance Doré have called time on their seven year relationship. The two photographers – both pioneers of the now all-pervasive street style photography scene – were one of fashion's most stylish couples, and collaborated on many creative projects together.

Both Schuman and Doré released similar statements on their respective sites – The Sartorialist and Garance Doré – announcing the split. 'After seven wonderful years, Garance and I have decided to split,' Schuman wrote to his readers.


'We’ve shared so much of our creative life (and more) with you, our readers, that we thought it was right to let you know. Our mutual respect and admiration for each other have left us still great friends.

Our time together profoundly changed both of our lives for the better and I deeply thank her for that experience. It’s a difficult time but we are both doing ok. It looks like some fashion week seating plans are going to have to be rearranged.
